Of course, the thing most people seem to be posting about: Doctor Who.

Is there life on Mars? )

Sorry I've been so quite the past few days; I've had a barrage of tests and practical assessments (including one tomorrow, ugh), and have been trying to get to bed as quickly as possible, which sadly limits my internet use. But I think the sleep is worth it. ME + SLEEP = OTP at the minute, for srs.

Also, slighly off topic, but relevant to my interests: I was searching YouTube for videos from the Merlin panel at last month's Expo, and I came across this little gem (which may or may not embed properly, but it's up here anyway):

You can actually hear my question at 07:40 (I'm the "young lady at the front" lol), so now I have me speaking to Angel Coubly, Katie McGrath and Johnny Capps preserved for all eternity on the internet. It's quite strange that my voice is now on YouTube, but I'm happy and don't care :D

Oh, and last but not least: my birthday is tomorrow, which is kind of kickass, and kind of a downer, but I shall just see how it rolls. So this is me saying goodbye old age, and HELLO NEW SPARKLY AGE on my journal. My third birthday on LJ *pulls party popper*

For some reason, checking my flist today made me really happy and feel sort of cosy. I don't know why, but it was nice. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

But first up: AN EPIC HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO WISH starsburn for tomorrow. Best wishes bb. I hope that you have a great day, and that nice sparkly things happen to you ♥♥

I spent today learning about and making notes on various sorting algorithms, which is pretty insufferable after a while, but I was able to endure thanks to Merlin. I loved this episode; it was rich with angst and horrible situations that needed plans to get out of, which is always good really. Plus, lots of characters were involved (although more Morgana pls) instead of being ignored, which gets annoying.

Anyway, the real reason for this post is a meme (oh, how I have missed memes!) from appleindecay:

Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."
- I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity.
- Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
- Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.
A cut of every sort is my abhorrence )

Mmmm, that took a long time, but kudos to appleindecay for the questions, because they were really good! Comment like the meme says if you want questions, and I shall happily oblige :D

It's late, and my comms aren't going to browse themselves, so GOOD NIGHT TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

HAPPY HALLOWE'EN EVERYONE! (I finally get to break out my ever-so-appropriate Nightmare Before Christmas icon)

I hope you all have a great end of October, whether you celebrate it or not :D

I'm going on a Hallowe'en walk thing in the woods at Beacon Hill (same place as last year), which is always pretty fun. I have an actual black cloak now (it's always been a dream of mine to obtain a cloak) so I guess I'll be wearing that and claiming I'm a witch. Should be good.

My brother's also coming home, and me, him and  my parents are going to see Michael Jackson's This Is It in the evening. I'm pretty excited about it (that's a mild understatement), and I have no idea what I'm going to think of it, so we shall see...

And main thing: tomorrow (or rather, today) I'm finally getting contact lenses! I've had glasses since I was about 10, and I've been wanting contacts for a while now, and my trial run will be at noon. It's a little surreal since I'm used to seeing my frames 100% of the time. Not that I don't love them, because I do, but a change is always nice. Plus everyone I know is of course accustomed to me with glasses so I may disorientate a few people. It should be fun freaking people out on Monday ;)

Anyway, it's late enough as it now, so goodnight~

I got back from London yesterday around 21:00, and I am still tired and achey and pretty blah overall. Waking up early today didn't help, but what can you do? Aside from my grumblings, I spent most of the day with my mind drifting off to think about the EPIC that was the weekend's convention. Let the pictures do the talking (oh, and of course my lengthy, lengthy commentary :B).

Day One: Cosplaying, Free Hugs and Craig Charles )

Day Two: Meeting fellow LJers, Merlin panel and Katie McGrath )
Whew, this has taken waaaay longer than I had anticipated. But it was totally worth it.

NIGHT NIGHT.

First of all:

A (ridiculously) belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO [info]trueroyalty

and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO [info]neverwinter for the 23rd.

Best wishes to both of you and I hope you have (and had) a good time celebrating.

Second of all (yes, it seems this post will be in crazy list format):

I have been on half-term break since last Thursday, and somehow I manage to make even less time for the internet, if that were even possible. FAIL.

Third of all:

Very sadly, on Sunday my guinea pig, Carrot, of four years (she would've been five on January 30th) passed away. She'd been suffering from water retention for a couple of weeks, so she proabably had liver or kidney failure. We'd taken her to the vet and gotten medication (although the outlook was bleak anyway) and she seemed to be improving a bit, but unfortunately on Sunday she looked really ill, and passed away in the evening. It was especially sad because she was a guinea pig I bred (I still have her mother), so I've known her whole life. RIP Carrot ♥

Fourth of all:

On Saturday, my parents are taking my friend D and I to London for the MCM Expo. It's in Canary Wharf, and we'll be staying over night, going to the Expo again on Sunday, and then going home. Although I don't seem it, I am crazy excited about this, mainly because I have never been to a convention before, and because the list of guests includes Tom Baker, Craig Charles, Angel Coulby and Katie McGrath. I can't really comprehend the fact that Angel Coulby and Katie McGrath will be there, at a Merlin panel, so I think I'll probably dance around and scream a little bit when it hits me properly. I've been trying to plan this for weeks, and little obstacles kept popping up, but finally, about a week ago it all got sorted. I love visiting London, and I've not been since August 2008, so YAY ME really.

That was all. I still feel incredibly guilty about how much of a sucky LJ friend I am, but on the plus side none of you guys have defriended me yet, so I am eternally grateful for that.

Peace out y'all.
