30 Rock - Sandwich

All I am, and all that I would ever want to be, is just a travesty

It's been a month since my last post, thanks to a hectic end to my university term. I finished a week ago and am now back at home for a month ;of Easter break. I had a small exam on the last Friday of term which I spent the end of term revising for, so I'm hoping that I've passed that (should find out in a couple of weeks).

Next week I'm helping out with lambing at a local 'open' farm where the public come round to see the animals. It counts towards my veterinary work experience for my degree. I went last year, and learned a lot, so I'm hoping to learn a lot again (and hopefully have more basic experience to cope straight away this time). I intend to return with photos of cute newborn lambs!

My flist seems pretty quiet lately, and I've been pretty bad at staying on top of it thanks to my stupid seemingly never-ending pile of work, but hopefully things will settle down a bit after this week and I'll catch up then.

Hope everyone's doing well anyway! ♥

Thanks for the journey

SEMI-PERMANENT HIATUS

I say semi-permanent because I am in no way giving up LJ (I really don't think I could), but because I can't really forsee a time when I'll be able to be back posting as normal. Who knew A-Levels would be so time consuming?

I've always been a fan of lurking on LJ (and in real life, to be honest) so I shall continue to do that (and I'll still be updating my record of movies watched and books read).

Basically, I just wanted to say sorry for being away without reason for two months, and that I honestly miss you all. I wish you all the best, and I hope that we can manage to sort stay in contact, although I can see how that may be difficult.

So this is basically a 'I'm fine and always will be 'til you hear otherwise' post, and to sort explain why my posting is shoddily sporadic at best. I can always be contacted through livejournal anyway, since I'm on the internet nearly every day.

I really hope there'll be a time when I have the time to enjoy LJ again as I used to. But until then, this is it.

Best wishes to everyone and thanks for everything.

Each time the wind blows

I had four mock exams this week, which was pretty horrific. I have one more next week, then Friday is our last day! It's a half day, and if I'm not mistaken there may be some kind of Pizza Hut excursion being planned with a small group of my aquaintances, so I'm kind of looking forward to that to be honest. The last thing I went and out and did with a group of friends was seeing Dorian Gray in September. Ugh, my life sounds bleak when you put it that way.

Anyway, the point is, I decided not to do any work yesterday, and relax, so I fiddled about in Photoshop and came up with a very small picspam of the prettiest pictures I've taken over the past month or so:

Merl' - Katie at Expo (TAKEN BY ME ♥)

Keep the faith

Again, I fail at Livejournal.

The funny thing is that I am on LJ every day, just not on my journal. Mostly browsing my flist, communities and lurking horribly. Anyway, this is just a post to say that I am okay and everything, just busy. I have exams in January, so I'm just working through and am about to start revision for all of them. I have just two weeks left before Christmas break, so I am looking forward to that. I'll probably be around more then.

My birthday was really nice, so thanks to everybody who wished me well :D

And one cool thing, before I go: Merlin: Secrets and Lies for 2.10. After the title sequence, they play a really short clip from the Expo, and me and my friend, D, are in the crowd, in the second row, shouting "WE LOVE MERLIN." It was pretty surreal actually, because I was just working whilst watching it, not fully concentrating on either, and I was suddenly like "what's D doing on my TV?" So I paused and rewound a couple of times to watch us squeeing and waving. It now officially counts that Merlin got us on TV, and we shall be forever immortalised in it. AWESOME \o/

Victorious.

Of course, the thing most people seem to be posting about: Doctor Who.

Sorry I've been so quite the past few days; I've had a barrage of tests and practical assessments (including one tomorrow, ugh), and have been trying to get to bed as quickly as possible, which sadly limits my internet use. But I think the sleep is worth it. ME + SLEEP = OTP at the minute, for srs.

Also, slighly off topic, but relevant to my interests: I was searching YouTube for videos from the Merlin panel at last month's Expo, and I came across this little gem (which may or may not embed properly, but it's up here anyway):

You can actually hear my question at 07:40 (I'm the "young lady at the front" lol), so now I have me speaking to Angel Coubly, Katie McGrath and Johnny Capps preserved for all eternity on the internet. It's quite strange that my voice is now on YouTube, but I'm happy and don't care :D

Oh, and last but not least: my birthday is tomorrow, which is kind of kickass, and kind of a downer, but I shall just see how it rolls. So this is me saying goodbye old age, and HELLO NEW SPARKLY AGE on my journal. My third birthday on LJ *pulls party popper*
Disney - Simba and Mufasa

If he's so smart...

For some reason, checking my flist today made me really happy and feel sort of cosy. I don't know why, but it was nice. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

But first up: AN EPIC HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO WISH starsburn for tomorrow. Best wishes bb. I hope that you have a great day, and that nice sparkly things happen to you ♥♥

I spent today learning about and making notes on various sorting algorithms, which is pretty insufferable after a while, but I was able to endure thanks to Merlin. I loved this episode; it was rich with angst and horrible situations that needed plans to get out of, which is always good really. Plus, lots of characters were involved (although more Morgana pls) instead of being ignored, which gets annoying.

Anyway, the real reason for this post is a meme (oh, how I have missed memes!) from appleindecay:

Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."
- I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity.
- Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
- Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.

Mmmm, that took a long time, but kudos to appleindecay for the questions, because they were really good! Comment like the meme says if you want questions, and I shall happily oblige :D

It's late, and my comms aren't going to browse themselves, so GOOD NIGHT TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!
Flims - 'Twas the Night before Christmas

I'm gonna make a change (for once in my life)

HAPPY HALLOWE'EN EVERYONE! (I finally get to break out my ever-so-appropriate Nightmare Before Christmas icon)

I hope you all have a great end of October, whether you celebrate it or not :D

I'm going on a Hallowe'en walk thing in the woods at Beacon Hill (same place as last year), which is always pretty fun. I have an actual black cloak now (it's always been a dream of mine to obtain a cloak) so I guess I'll be wearing that and claiming I'm a witch. Should be good.

My brother's also coming home, and me, him and  my parents are going to see Michael Jackson's This Is It in the evening. I'm pretty excited about it (that's a mild understatement), and I have no idea what I'm going to think of it, so we shall see...

And main thing: tomorrow (or rather, today) I'm finally getting contact lenses! I've had glasses since I was about 10, and I've been wanting contacts for a while now, and my trial run will be at noon. It's a little surreal since I'm used to seeing my frames 100% of the time. Not that I don't love them, because I do, but a change is always nice. Plus everyone I know is of course accustomed to me with glasses so I may disorientate a few people. It should be fun freaking people out on Monday ;)

Anyway, it's late enough as it now, so goodnight~
